Good afternoon. Neoprene rubber is insoluble in MMA, some common alcohols, esters and ethers. It can be limited soluble in toluene and xylene, and a few solvents with strong solubility such as cyclohexanone, DMF, THF, etc. Neoprene rubber is generally used for the common protective gloves in our laboratory. It is acid resistant, alkali resistant, and resistant to most organic solvents. It is a good three-dimensional cross-linked elastomer. MMA is a monomer of PMMA. Although pure methacrylate is an ester, its own solubility is not strong because it is a monomer. Furthermore, MMA can be miscible with other solvents, but it cannot dissolve anything (polyethylene glycol PEG, methyl pyrrolidone NMF, etc., with similar properties). If you have the conditions, you can also soak the neoprene in the MMA. The finished neoprene cannot be completely dissolved, and can only be swelled by aromatic hydrocarbons, alkanes and ketones.
