How To Choose Nitrile Gloves?

Which is better, nitrile gloves or latex gloves?
1、 What are nitrile gloves
Nitrile gloves are made of nitrile rubber. Nitrile rubber is made from butadiene and acrylonitrile through lotion polymerization. Its products have excellent oil resistance, high wear resistance and good heat resistance. The protein is refined with high-quality nitrile rubber and other additives. It has no allergic reaction to human skin, is non-toxic, harmless, durable, and has good adhesion.
2、 Differences between nitrile gloves and latex gloves
First, nitrile gloves are different from latex gloves. Latex gloves are also called rubber gloves. Latex is a natural material made from rubber tree sap. Natural latex is a kind of biosynthetic product. Due to different tree species, geology, climate and other related conditions, their composition and structure are often very different. In the fresh latex without any substance added, rubber hydrocarbon only accounts for 20% - 40% of the total amount, and the rest is non rubber component and water. Non rubber components include proteins, lipids, sugars and inorganic components. Some of them form a composite structure with rubber particles, and some of them dissolve in whey or form non rubber particles. Nitrile is a kind of artificial rubber, which is mainly synthesized from acrylonitrile and butadiene. It is a key material for organic synthesis and pharmaceutical intermediates.
Second, compared with latex gloves, nitrile gloves are not easily allergic. Latex gloves contain protein, which is easy to cause allergic reaction to people with physical allergy. Nitrile gloves do not contain protein, amino compounds and other harmful substances, and there are few allergies.
Third, nitrile gloves are more resistant to puncture than latex gloves. The toughness and abrasion resistance of latex gloves are slightly lower than those of nitrile gloves. The puncture resistance of nitrile gloves is three to five times that of latex. For dentists who need sharp tools, the use of durable nitrile gloves can establish a safer barrier in contact with patients.
Fourth, the elasticity of nitrile gloves is different from latex gloves. Latex gloves are soft and wear-resistant, with better elasticity than nitrile gloves.
Fifth, the prices of nitrile gloves and latex gloves are different. The price of nitrile gloves is much higher than that of latex products, because the chemical resistance and acid and alkaline resistance of nitrile are better than that of latex.
In addition, nitrile gloves have certain anti-static properties, low surface chemical residues, low ion content, small particle content, and are suitable for strict clean room environment.
3、 How to choose nitrile gloves
★ Selection of oil resistance and solvent resistance.
The selection of nitrile gloves usually focuses on their oil resistance and solvent resistance. Therefore, the role of oil resistance and solvent resistance is often the focus of selection. The oil resistance of nitrile gloves depends on the content of acrylonitrile. The higher the content of acrylonitrile, the stronger the oil resistance. When the content of acrylonitrile is 35% to 40%, it has excellent oil resistance.
★ Selection of powder free surface.
There are countless suppliers of nitrile gloves on the market, but many of the packages of nitrile gloves are marked with no powder. In fact, in the process of production, operation and use, the enterprise found that many nitrile gloves said there was no powder, but there would still be powder on the surface, which seriously affected the product quality.
★ Applicable to clean room level division.
Generally, latex gloves and nitrile gloves are suitable for Class 100 purification workshops, and nitrile gloves are widely used. At present, there is no clear classification standard for gloves in the world. In general, the main difference is the low number of dust particles and gloves. The following methods can be used for testing:
Take two samples of gloves of different grades, cut them into 1-2 cm pieces, put them into clean beakers respectively, add about 100 ml of equal amount of pure water, and fully stir them with glass rods. If possible, the visual test can be carried out after 1-2 hours of oscillation. Pure water with more impurities indicates extreme paper, while pure water with less impurities indicates high level.
★ Conduct quality test on nitrile gloves.
Since nitrile gloves are in direct contact with the product most of the time, the quality requirements are quite strict. Before use, nitrile gloves have passed the relevant test of dust-free cleaning. The nitrile gloves used in production also need to be tested before use, and can be used after passing the test. The test is mainly divided into four parts: appearance inspection, physical test, ESD performance test and chemical test.
